We take a holistic approach to alleviating physical dysfunction
OSTEOPATHIC BASED MANUAL THERAPY can help
The techniques I use are NOT typical relaxation massage techniques. Instead, they are a customized combination of manual osteopathic therapies I have learned and continue to learn at the Ursa Foundation (now Kinections Educational Institute and ANS Balance HRV). Ursa’s approach to treatment is based on their philosophy that all the body’s systems are interconnected and treatment needs to consider and address them all to be successful.

I limit my use of these manual therapy techniques to the scope of practice of massage therapy.

Each treatment is always unique, even for returning clients. However, there are basic elements common to each one: an updated health history, an in-depth postural analysis and biomechanical movement screen, and use of a blend of manual osteopathic techniques appropriate for the client at that time.

*NOTICE TO ALL CLIENTS*

We are reopening on May 1 and will be operating under the strict guidelines set out by Salt Lake County. Following these guidelines is mandatory in order for us to continue to provide care to clients. Anyone scheduling an appointment with us is certifying that they agree to abide by these regulations.

We are implementing the new county guidelines by:

1. We are not providing treatments to anyone with any kind of fever, cough, sore throat or respiratory illness, regardless of whether they have tested positive for Covid-19 or not.

If you have any of these symptoms, please cancel your appointment, or let us know so we assist you to cancel your appointment. Anyone who comes to their appointment with any of these symptoms WILL be turned away.

2. All clients will be treated with the therapist wearing a face mask. The county has asked that all clients also wear face masks during their treatments. We have only a small number of disposable face masks here, so please bring a face mask with you to your appointment.

3. Anyone having any of the above symptoms meets our criteria for "emergency cancellation" and will not be charged for an appointment cancelled due to illness inside of 24 hours. Simply cancel your appointment using the "cancel" button inside your cancellation email, or contact us for help in canceling.

4. Please arrive on time to your appointment.

5. If you arrive early, please wait in the chairs on the porch until we let you know to come inside. If someone is already waiting in the chairs, please remain in your car until we come get you in order to maintain appropriate distances from other people.

6. Please do not bring children or anyone else to your appointment with you, unless they are also being treated

7. We continue to sanitize all high-touch surfaces in between each patient. This takes a little bit of extra time, and we ask for your understanding and patience while we get back into the swing of things. *Arriving on time for your appointment will help us greatly in being able to keep on schedule.*

Scheduling an appointment certifies you agree to follow these regulations in coming to your appointment.
*Individuals wishing to schedule their first appointment will need to bring a completed Health History form and a signed Office Policies form.

Simply click on the document titles in our "Office Policies" section to print out, complete, and bring to your appointment.

*Personal Injury Clients*
I do not treat anyone who is involved in any kind of personal injury situation (car accidents, workmen's compensation or any other kind), litigation (law suits) for injuries, or anyone who plans to sue anyone for injuries. I don't get involved in anyone's legal matters under any condition.

There are NO EXCEPTIONS, including individuals who want to be treated here and pay out of pocket instead of having an insurance company pay on their behalf, related to an accident.

*For any current clients who have been involved in an accident where there is an open insurance claim, please contact us right away so we can pause your treatments and refer you to an excellent therapist who treats patients involved in insurance claims or litigation.

I know this is disappointing news to many individuals, and I sincerely apologize that I am not able to provide care in these situations. I am a solo therapist with many clients, and I have had multiple  experiences in these matters in the past. Unfortunately, responding to subpoenas and mandated court appearances result in severe disruption of care to my many other clients, many of whom are under time constraints for their own therapy.

Clients are more than welcome to schedule appointments again after their insurance claims and court cases are COMPLETELY closed.
Forms & Policies
The full text of Rose Canyon Manual Therapy Office Policies is shown below for your review. Please click on the title of each document above to open it in a new window for printing. If you are a new client, please complete a copy of each and bring with you to your first appointment.
My Requirements of Clients:

1. I respect my time and the time of others. Please leave sufficient travel time to arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. I do not start my next client’s treatment later because the previous client arrived late for their scheduled time. Sessions begun late due to the client arriving late are still full price. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment you will need to be rescheduled.

2. Adults who do not require physical assistance during their treatment from a caregiver are asked to come alone to their treatment to afford maximum privacy for the individual being treated. Clients with young children who need their parents’ attention while the parent is being treated should not bring their children to their appointment unless the child/children will also be treated at that same time.

3. Be clean, having showered the same day as your treatment.

4. Do not come to your appointment if you are ill and contagious. Please call ahead to advise that you will need to reschedule.

5. If cancellation is necessary, please give 24-hour notice or you will be charged for the appointment. Emergency cancellations are determined at the therapist’s discretion.

6. Clients who miss their first appointment without prior notice of cancellation (see Requirement #5 above) or miss two (2) follow up appointments without giving prior notice of cancellation will not be given future appointments. Non-emergency cancellations less than 24 hours before scheduled appointments must be paid for before a future appointment will be scheduled.

7. Be present (not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, etc.)

8. Clients must provide a health history and update when there have been any significant events/changes related to a client’s health.

9. Payment is required at time of service.

10. Sexual harassment is not tolerated. If the practitioner’s safety feels compromised, the session is stopped immediately.

11. This office is a non-smoking environment.

What clients can expect of me:

1. Clients are treated with respect and dignity. Privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times.

2. I provide my clients with a competent and professional session each time they come for an appointment, addressing the client’s specific needs for that session.

3. I perform services for which I am qualified and able (physically and emotionally) to do, and I refer clients to appropriate specialists when work is not within my scope of practice and/or not in the client’s best interest.

4. I charge a fair price for my services.

5. I only provide my services at my business location. I do not do house calls or treat clients at their businesses, rest homes, rehabilitation centers or hospitals.

6. This office does not accept any medical plans or medical insurance. I do not accept clients with workmen’s compensation cases, accident victims involved in litigation or who have an open insurance claim or who expect to submit statements to an insurance company for reimbursement for treatment related to an accident.

7. Payment is due at the time of service. I do not provide direct billing for insurance. I do not accept checks from insurance companies. I accept cash, personal checks and credit cards (Visa/MC/Discover/American Express). Checks for insufficient funds are charged a $30 fee, in addition to whatever charges are issued by a client’s financial institution. A statement showing payment will be sent or given to the client.

8. This office does not fill out forms, write letters, or write reports to insurance companies or personal injury attorneys. This is not negotiable; I make no exceptions. I suggest that you do not anticipate being reimbursed by your insurance company. I only release client records to the client.

9. I stay current with information and techniques by studying, and by completing at least two workshops per year.

10. Clients are clothed at all times during the session. The genitals are never exposed or treated in any way.

11. I only cancel appointments in case of an emergency. Should I need to cancel an appointment, I give as much notice as possible.

12. My equipment and supplies are clean and safe.

By making an appointment you are accepting the rules and conditions of this office.

I have read, understand, and agree to abide by these policies.

Testimonials
“Autumn has an incredible and uncommonly found set of skills and ways to treat clients. She is very educated, thorough, intuitive, efficient. I am so relieved to have finally found, after nearly 20 years for some of my issues, a practitioner who can actually help me!”

“I simply need to tell Autumn everything that is going on with my body no matter where it is or what the issue is…she is able to address everything I have brought up during visits. Amazing!”

-- Claudia
“I have to tell you…I’m amazed - really - at how you made my ankle pain go away!!! It left that day and is gone. I CAN’T tell you how relieved and grateful I am. I’m crying. Thanks, Autumn.”

-- Lisa

"Autumn is Fantastic! Being a right side sleeper, I tend to crush my right arm. Late 2007 I began to think I had arthritis because for about a month or two I couldn’t bend my middle finger all the way without tightness/pain. Autumn located the problem at the biceps near the shoulder. Who’d have thunk it?! She then relieved a trigger point that was obviously causing shortness in the train of muscle leading to my right hand which also helped to restore proper circulation to that side. I never had a problem with “arthritis” again. ;-)"

-- Rorie

“I’ve utilized Autumn’s services for 2-3 years now. Sometimes for myself on body alignment or hamstring pull recovery and also for my wife and children. She has corrected ever issue so far, issues that previously I had seen my family physician or chiropractor on and they weren’t able to correct the issue. My son plays football and had a problem with swelling around the right knee, had that problem for 4 years. This year he played college ball and never had a problem with his knee. Her knowledge and caring make her an exceptional therapist!”

-- Keith
“Autumn knows the body and its alignment. She knows how to repair the tissue, muscle, and ligament issues. For me she is better than a physical therapist because she knows what she is doing and she gets results. Not only is she careful, but she explains everything to you, teaching you what you can do to keep healthy on your own. Autumn is the best. Try her. You will be totally surprised at what she can do for your pain.”

-- Ed
“I have had constant trouble with my neck and back after a car accident 35 years ago. After many doctors, chiropractors and pain I am finally feeling back to my old self after going to Autumn. She has helped me like no one in the past could do. Autumn is knowledgeable, attentive and can pinpoint problem areas quickly. I would recommend her to anyone with pain no matter where it is. Thanks for making my life so much better!”

-- Patti
“Autumn works with everyone I know and she is able to relieve even the most painful joint pain. Her skill-set is far beyond anyone’s I have ever encountered, yet she continues her education path striving for even greater results. I cannot thank Autumn enough for all of the relief she has brought to my life and the life of my family. After I had ankle surgery she was able to reduce the scar tissue and ensure that the joint maintained its flexibility with minimal discomfort. Autumn also shows her patients ways to stay in balance in between treatments as well. THANKS, Autumn! God truly has blessed you with a special gift.”

-- Debbie
“Autumn is no ordinary massage therapist, she is a miracle worker. After years and years of playing sports I was having lower back issues happening in my old age, after one session with Autumn I couldn’t believe I had dealt with this for a long time. I wanted more - so I went back and she was able to really get my body back into alignment - from my hips, to my neck and of course my back. She also provided me with ideas, therapy I could do on my own to help me keep up with all my therapy. I would recommend Autumn to anyone.”

-- Jane
“After an auto accident I was introduced to Autumn by a friend. I started off in physical therapy for a shifted hip, foot and shoulder problems. After the allotted time was up with the therapist I was stuck still in pain. I met Autumn. She scheduled me in and I am so grateful. She cleared up my problems that were causing the pain from the accident. She has also helped my daughter over the years with kinks due to sports. She is wonderful and trustworthy. Thank you, Autumn!! We appreciate you so much.”

-- Cindy

“Autumn has a great practice that is unlike any other. I was told I would always have the lower back pain I suffered with. I happened to be in the right place at the right time and she walked in as the trainer was trying to help me figure out how to get some movement in my hips. Autumn worked with me briefly and said she could help me if I came back. I made an appointment for the next day and within an hour was walking normal and was pain free. I can’t count the number of referrals I’ve sent in that are also amazed in the relief she has given them also.”

-- Jackie
“I’m so grateful I was given Autumn's name by an old friend. My daughter has suffered from constant headaches for years. After a few minutes with Autumn and her magic hands the headache was gone. My neck has bothered me since my teens because I carry all my tension through my shoulders and base of my neck. Autumn has eased all that misery. Because we are constantly jarring our bodies by falling or injuring ourselves. I want to continue "maintenance” on my frame through the Ursa sessions. I have sent so many family members to Autumn and they have each had a positive experience. She’s even helped my four-year-old grandson with the pain in his feet. Old internal surgery scars have been loosened up and my body feels more like it should. My left wrist was broken in 1999 and after some work on it, any stiffness I had in movement is gone. I think the Ursa techniques are an amazing lost art and would recommend these sessions to anyone. Also, Autumn is just a sweet and personable care provider! If you’ve ever suffered from a serious accident, injury or surgery, go see Autumn! Even if you haven’t and you just feel strange pain…go see Autumn!“

-- Melodie
“I went in to Autumn for the first time with neck and back pain and in the process mentioned to her that I had been diagnosed with Acid Reflux about a year earlier. Autumn was able to break up and release some scar tissue adhesions in my stomach and I have not experienced any pain since and I was able to stop taking my medication. Autumn not only has a vast amount of knowledge, but she also has the ability to explain what is going on with your body in a way that someone without any training can understand. I feel like I have a much greater understanding of what is going on my body than I ever did. And now when I experience pain or notice something going on, I don’t feel stress wondering what it is and how bad it is. Autumn has given me confidence in my healing and recovery. I recommend her to everybody.”

-- Alecia
"A treatment from Autumn is like being thrown a life vest when you are drowning in a sea of pain or physical limitations! Her extensive training and knowledge of the body systems, how everything functions and how they are interrelated is truly amazing! It is wonderful to be treated at the source of your problems, feel almost immediate relief and not have to return numerous times a week or months like most doctors and therapists require. Autumn is very personable. She answers all of your questions and explains the treatments you receive as she works with you. I recommend coming in from time to time to just keep your entire body tuned up and functioning as it should! Her treatments are worth every dollar and more!”

-- Wendy
“I’m a runner and I play a lot of soccer, so my knees and feet take a lot of stress. I’ve been dealing with achilles tendonitis, sore knees and a tight hip for years. Relaxation massage can only do so much and can only solve superficial problems. Cue Autumn at Rose Canyon Manual Therapy. She identified my biomechanical inefficiencies and recognized that my tendonitis was related to the tightness in my hip. I know! Who knew? With her one-of-a-kind knowledge and skills, she made the pain disappear and even corrected the imbalances in my joints and muscles, releasing the stress on my tendon and allowing me to run pain free. I have never improved so much after just one treatment. Autumn is as close to a miracle worker as they come. So, if you have chronic pain, sports-related injuries, or just feel like you need to be put back together, Autumn at RCMT will definitely help.”

-- Brett
“Autumn has great knowledge of the musculoskeletal system of the human boy, through her extensive training from Ursa Foundation by medical specialists whose backgrounds are in osteopathy. She will uncover the root causes of pain(s) you may experience from physical injures. She is extremely personable with each patient, and her prices are very reasonable! I heartily recommend her to anyone seeking relief from physical pain. She knows much more than many general practice medical doctors, chiropractors, and physical therapists. You won’t regret being treated by her!”

-- E. P.
“Autumn is amazing! She is proficient at locating the root of the problem and taking the appropriate measures to fix it. If you are considering surgery in a particular area, it is worth seeing her first. She will likely be able to fix your problem manually and save your body the trauma of the surgery. I have sent numerous family members to Autumn and everyone has had a positive experience. I have only wonderful things to say about Autumn and her work. I highly recommend her services!”

-- Amie
“The services provided by Autumn Mayberry at Rose Canyon Manual Therapy exceeded my expectations! She was kind and professional. The services provided were better than any other massage or physical therapy services I have experienced in the past. I have suffered from lower back pain and other pain throughout my body, but after meeting with Autumn the pain has been eliminated. That’s what she does, she gets to the root of your body problems and helps to solve the problems permanently and not just give you temporary relief. I have recommended her to family and friends, and will continue to do so!”

-- Jorge
“I highly recommend Autumn Mayberry to anyone that is looking for massage therapy! She has an amazing bedside manner and her knowledge and capabilities are top notch.”

-- Moni
“Autumn, thank you so, so, so much for insisting I come see you right after surgery! You were absolutely right that it would make a big difference. I cannot believe how good I feel!!! Aside from my breast being a bit tender I feel totally and completely normal! Unlike last time, there is no soreness, or stiffness anywhere. Yay!!!
Again, thank you so much! You are a miracle worker and a gift from God!!! Your talents and abilities are very much needed!
With as good as I feel I would have gladly paid double the price!!! I am so totally amazed!"

-- Sylvia
“I am 99.9% back to "normal". Thank you!”

-- Linda
“You are truly a miracle worker. [My daughter] couldn't believe how much better her head felt after manual therapy. Thank you! I'm so grateful we found you. I am awed by your ability to help others and your plethera of knowledge. Thank you again for all you have done for [my daughter].”

Visceral Manipulation:
Vascular Neurochemical Structural Treatment

Instructor: Neal O'Neal, PT of Pursuit PT in Redmond, WA

Location: Fyzical Therapy - 12198 S, State St #3, Draper, UT 84020

July 11, 2020

1-Day Lab Class

Class - In Person & on Zoom

Zoom Class is Interactive

Visceral Manipulation: Vascular Neurochemical Structural Treatment is a continuing education class for manual practitioners who want to improve their current skills in palpation and manual manipulation and expand their knowledge and understanding of the interaction of the biomechanical function and neurochemical responsiveness of the respiratory-cardio-renal-vascular system in the maintenance of health. This amazing complex maintains long-term blood pressure, electrolyte balance, and immune response to environmental (infectious, pollution, etc) and internal (stress) factors. This class will focus on visceral mobility of vascular system as it flows through the body and specifically to organs, through fascias, with nerves, and to ligaments, capsules, and muscles throughout the body but most specifically the respiratory, cardiac, and renal systems.

In light of recent illumination into this system, lab will be focused on treatment from an infectious and stress (both global and local) standpoint. A global focus on stress includes adrenal involvement whereas local stress will focus on emboli / deep vein thrombosis development. The infectious focus of lab treatment will be on the sequelae of Tuberculosis, Covid-19, and Anthrax. These latter examples illuminate how the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System (RAAS) system works and breaks down which gives the manual practitioner insight into how to restore proper function or maximize function in the face of frank pathology operant with dysfunction.

Special care and distancing will be taken to limit cross-contamination with Covid-19 including everyone will have their temperature and O2 levels taken at the door; will be measured for issues with pulse oximetry, blood pressure, and heart rate; be expected to wash their hands before, during and after the course; be expected to wear a mask during the class; and must maintain physical distancing except for lab partners.

If you feel that attending the course in person is not possible, we are offering a live, online access to the entirety of the course including lab. Live questions from the online students will be taken. There will be multiple camera angles to choose from and up close video of the lab section. Please contact us for further details.
